SESSTIM

The research in Humanities and Social Sciences is conducted by the members of the unit UMR 912 SESSTIM which is one of the reference hubs, at national and international levels, in the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences and Economics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Medical Informatics applied to health.

The approaches and methods for each of those disciplines are applied to infectious diseases, to their epidemiology, and their surveillance.

The different teams of the unit also contribute to the IHU’s activities by providing methodological support for the economic evaluation of practices and innovative experiments, the evaluation of their consequences in terms of care practices and/or amongst patient populations interviewed in their homes.

The dimension “work South” is also a major focus of the UMR SESSTIM, which is part of INSERM, IRD and Aix-Marseilles University.
